Miss Maria Athanasiadou is a Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic surgeon. She holds an NHS post at the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, and her Aesthetic practice is based at the Kat & Co clinic.  

Maria obtained her primary medical degree in Greece and, following 2 years of core surgical training, moved to the UK in 2007 to further her training. She spent 1 year at the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire, and 4 years in the University Hospitals Birmingham training program. In addition, she completed a fellowship in microsurgery at Ghent University Hospital, Belgium with the internationally renowned team lead by Professor Philippe Blondeel, and a further fellowship in facial plastic surgery at the Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam. Maria’s last fellowship was in skin oncology at the University Hospitals Birmingham.

Maria is triple qualified in Plastic Surgery, with specialist qualifications from the Hellenic Ministry of Health, the European board of plastic surgery (EBOPRAS) and the Royal College of Surgeons FRCS (Plast). She has competency in all types of aesthetic surgery, with a special interest in facial aesthetics.

Maria maintains a belief in individualized care tailored to the specific patient’s needs: “every patient is different,and I will always offer tailored treatment by listening to the patient’s concerns and involving them in the decision making. The patient’s safety and satisfaction are at the centre of my care”.
